We put our boots outside for St. Nicholas to fill. After our naps there was candy and a book in each or our boots..

This large white board has been a fun addition to the classroom. We have one already on the wall but putting it on the floor added a whole new dimension. We can also use it to play with our loose parts and to build on.

We discovered ice in the tires in our play yard.

We've been exploring purple this month. For our group time today we did wet-on-wet paintings using different shades of blue and red. We started with our boards but of course we couldn't help painting on our hands too!

Our group activity today was carving a pumpkin....messy but fun.

After building the brown stair, this little one proceeded to walk up and down it.

The older children used the clay to create a volcano, a bird nest and some dinosaur eggs.

I added clay to the classroom today. Clay is a great sensorial material for little ones. It feels and reacts differently than Play Doh. It was their idea to add in the scissors. I love to sit back and watch and try and see what the children are thinking. They teach me so much!

We are enjoying a fine fall day before the two days of forecasted rain arrives.

The children came up with this recipe today for Spooky Soup....5 snakes, 7 dinosaur bones, 1 cup of sand, 10 pumpkin seeds, water, milk and marshmallows...Cook it on the fire!

This little one is always digging for diamonds. Here is the one he found today!

Wedgits and Play Doh are always a popular "work"choice. "The Stubborn Pumpkin" has been a favourite book with the children this fall. We all know it so well the children act it out as I tell it.

About Tree House Daycare

Tree House Preschool Daycare was established in September 2007 to meet the needs of families looking for quality home care for their children. At Tree House we believe that childhood is a journey and not a race. The years under six are the most critical period for nurturing a child’s natural curiosity and for laying the foundation of all future development. Our curriculum includes hands-on learning in several areas, in an environment prepared to allow the children to freely choose their own activities. We also spend lots of time outdoors, playing and exploring the natural world. Early childhood is a very special time that should not be rushed. Each child should be allowed to grow and develop at their own pace. Treehouse Preschool Daycare provides a nurturing environment where children are secure and childhood is cherished.

Hello

About Me

Tree House Preschool Daycare
Huntsville, Ontario, Canada
Hi! I am Sharon, wife to a wonderful man for the past 30yrs and mother to 3 great kids. Our oldest children are grown and happily married and our youngest is an energetic and creative 8yr old. Education has been part of my life for the past 23yrs as I completely home-educated our older two children. In 2007 after becoming interested in Montessori education I began my 3-6 year old Montessori training which I completed in July 2010. Tree House Preschool Daycare was established in September 2007 and as we enter our seventh year I am excited to see how much we will all learn from each other this coming year.
