June 11-22......How we have been spending our days!

We have been painting.....I love Tank standing with his hands behind his back watching the "big" boys painting

After patiently waiting Tank gets his turn to paint....

Painting is a sensorial experience.....touch it, taste it, feel it, oh yeah, feelin' blue!

Making butterfly blot pictures....we framed these and gave them to our dads for Father's Day

We've been swimming!

This is my favourite shot of the week....Princess and Flowerpot after working out a little problem themselves by talking it out on the peace bench, got up and walked off hand in hand...the benefits of Montessori peace lessons!

We have lots of swallowtails in the garden at this time of year....

The children helped to plant some seeds this week in our school garden...

We are indoors from 8am to 9am and during the afternoon rest time.....so still some work going on in the classroom!

Our first outdoor work presentation this week was "how to use the hose"

We had a few rainy afternoons this week. The children had fun exploring with the microscope.

I love the conversations that are inspired when the children look at books....

These little books that I put together with pictures of the children are their favourite books....

At one point this morning everyone was busy tracing names......their own and their friend's names.

Care of plant work...

This was so much fun today.....we made these life size copies of each child last September when we were learning about our bodies....we have had them displayed on our classroom ceiling all year...today we took them down and measured each child to see how much we have grown...you can see by the smile on Sparkle's face, that this was lots of fun!

Today it was raining heavily so we couldn't go outside.....during our outside time, we made a big pot of chicken soup, did the room labeling game together, then worked on some art in the style of Matisse.

These are our finished Matisse Pictures....there is a print of Matisse's "The Snail" on the wall by the door.....the children's art looks great!
