Tank really is a little too young for this work...but he loves it. He spent 20mins working with these little boxes. First opening them all to see the surprise inside, then feeling all the little toys inside and finally trying to put the lids back on. He was working on his fine motor skills and his concentration.

This week we are learning about Antarctica.....here is our Antarctica exploration tub. I put fresh snow in each morning. The snow looks so pure but when it melts it reveals all the dirt hidden in it. A great lesson on how snowflakes form and also a reminder not to eat snow.

We made snow mountain pictures with packing noodles.....love the new ones made of cornstarch that stick with a little water. We added some penguins to make Antarctica pictures.

Wet-on-Wet painting is a technique that blends the colours in a rather magical way. It is a different experience than just using tempera paints or water paints on dry paper. Its not really about painting anything in particular it is about experiencing colour.
