Tiger was working with the dry pouring tray. He is very little and often needs to be reminded to put his work back on the shelf. When he got up and left his work I was just about to remind him to put the tray back when I noticed where he was heading. He went to get the dustpan and small broom to clean up the few kernels that had spilled. A lesson to me to trust the little ones more. Tiger I am so proud of you!

Tiger and Iish working at the water table....pouring with a funnel and transferring with a dropper.

Looking at the Math Readers....
I love how independent the children become. This independence gives them so much confidence. They are not afraid of making spills because they know how to clean it up themselves.

The "f" object box...

We learn to respect each others work space and concentration by not touching another child's work or talking to them when they are working. I happened to look over and saw Princess doing just as she has been told...watching quietly with her hands behind her back, very kind and respectful Princess!
Today was Michaelmas...an old European holiday; all about knights and dragons and good overcoming evil...for us that just means making crowns and pretending to be knights, and planting bulbs for spring. We couldn't do our knight's parade or plant because of the rain but tomorrow is another day.

Preschool meeting around the water table...

Peanut works with this tanagram set every day...she really enjoys it.

Princess doing punchwork.
This work strengthens the pincer grip, the hand and the wrist in preparation for writing, it also takes a lot of concentration.

One of our circle songs this month....

"Taking turns, taking turns,
That's the happy way.
Taking turns, taking turns,
That's the way to play.
On the bike or on the slide,
We must take our turn to ride.
Taking turns, taking turns,
That's the way to play."
